The annual talent competition “Golden Integral” is not just a tradition but a true celebration of creativity that has been a hallmark of student life at Sumy State University for many years. The students of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU actively participated in this vibrant event.
Hlafira KOVAL, a student translator of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU, joined the translation of the “Eyewitness. Encyclopedia of Everything” for the Ranok Publishing House.
On November 20, Olena Nazarenko, Vice-Dean of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, for Extramural Studies and Distance Learning, took part in a working visit to colleges in Pryluky. In particular, she met with the directors of Ivan Franko humanitarian pedagogical college of Pryluky and Pryluky technical professional college.
The Faculty FPSC faculty arranged career guidance meetings for NMT preparatory students at SumDU on 15-17 November. In addition to introducing the majors, the faculty members also organised a book exhibition and promotion product launch, a photo zone, and an association tree with specialty branches.
In the lead-up to International Students' Day, traditional award ceremonies honored students who demonstrated exceptional achievements across various fields of student activities. On November 13, the best students of the city were recognized, and on November 15, the winners of the "Best Student of SumDU 2024" competition received their awards. Among the awardees were representatives of the Faculty FPSC.
On November 11, Tetiana KOVALOVA and Nataliia PONOMARENKO, professors at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, attended the International Conference "Media Literacy in Times of War and Global Transformations" held in Kyiv.
On November 14, at the PennTESOL Conference in Philadelphia (USA), a book titled "Voices of Courage and Vulnerability: Teaching English in a Society at War (Ukraine 2022–2023)" was presented. Among the contributors to the publication is an Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics at the FPSC Faculty of SumDU, Iryna LIASHENKO.
The 10th International Conference on the Safety of Journalists took place in Oslo, Norway. One of the speakers at the forum was an Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics at the Faculty FPSC of SumDU, Nina MALOVANA.
Students of the Faculty FPSC always actively participate in educational, scientific, and international cooperation. Their results and achievements have found a general acceptance not only at the local level but at the state level as well. Anastasiia LUSHCHYK (a scholarship holder of the President of Ukraine), Zakhar YUVKO (a scholarship holder of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine), and Kyrylo HARKAVYI (a scholarship holder of the Sumy RStA) were awarded the academic scholarships this year.
The presentation of the guidebook “Seven Tips for Rational Media Use in Wartime” was conducted during the Global Week of Media Literacy. This guidebook was created as part of the “Learn and Distinguish: Media Literacy and Education” project. One of the editorial staff is Nataliia PONOMARENKO, a senior lecturer at the Department of Journalism and Philology Faculty FPSC of SumDU.
The Open Day took place on 2 November at Sumy State University. In addition, the Faculty FPSC of SumDU supported this event and arranged unique attractions for the entrants.
