On November 24th, the Department of Germanic Philology of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU held the ХІII All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Translation Innovations" online. The materials of the conference include the additions of representatives of higher education institutions and schoolchildren from different cities of Ukraine. Tomoko Tatsumi, associate professor at the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies at Kobe University in Japan, researcher of the Language Development Department at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, also visited the conference.

Head of the Department of Germanic Philology, Svitlana Baranova, congratulated those present on the opening of the conference and noted that this is an important step in science and experience, which will further help future translators in employment. Maryna Nabok, the deputy dean for scientific work of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU, and Iryna Kobyakova, professor the Department of Germanic Philology, joined in the greeting.

Conference participants shared their impressions.

The scientific field is complex, but very interesting, that attracts with the possibility of new discoveries.

In the reports, attention was focused on the problems of translation studies, modern linguistics and literary studies. The work of the conference was divided into six sections: "Linguistic picture of the world and intercultural communication", "Discursive linguistics: linguistic features", "Current issues of applied and cognitive linguistics", "Translation studies: traditional and innovative approaches and methods", "Methodology and methodic of modern literary studies", "Theory and methodic of teaching foreign languages and translation in institutions of higher education and school".
