Students and lecturers of the department of Germanic philology at the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications of SumDU, where the future specialists in foreign language are prepared, in a refined manner celebrated International Translation Day.

The head of the Department of Germanic Philology, Professor Iryna Kobyakova congratulated all the present, especially freshmen, on their professional holiday, wished them a decent job and presented thematic gifts. Iryna Karpivna also shared information about one of the most important department achievements this year - opening a postgraduate study, where she invited students for further education.

Now our students can steadily scale new heights, deepen their knowledge, develop their translation skills and pave the way to science, - emphasized professor Iryna Kobyakova.

               Experts of the Employers Council in the specialty "Translation" represented by the Director of «AGNKS-Service» Nataliia Maliuk had the opportunity to evaluate the deep knowledge and creativity of future translators, in which she is personally interested. The «AGNKS-Service» supplies and installs gas equipment in the CIS countries and require qualified language assistant to translate instructions and to correspond with US partners for the purchasing of spare parts. Mrs. Nataliia congratulated all the present on the holiday, and was deeply fascinated by the level of training of translators as well as scientific and methodological potential of the department and expressed the intention of further productive cooperation.

Lecturers of the department and alumni Halyna Cherednychenko, a translator with 15 year experience, and Anna Reshytko, a lecturer, and now a postgraduate student of our department joined the congratulations. 

 Further, the students of groups PR-91 and PR-92 skillfully recited translated poems from different languages ​​and sang songs.

The official part of the celebration ended with the new tradition of the department - putting flowers to the sculpture "The commemorative sign for the fallen student-warrior". The flowers were decided to be planted next to the sculpture as a symbol of eternal gratitude to the warrior students.
