On November 13th, student advertisers of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU and the university's psychological service organized an online event called "Black Square." The idea was to give students the opportunity to anonymously ask questions about their mental state, which were later answered by psychologist Liudmyla KOLISNYK.

With their project, organizers decided to help university students cope with various psychological problems that occur in everyday life.

One of the authors of the event, student advertiser Zhanna Martyshchenko, described the story of creating “Black Square” as follows:

– Our team had been thinking about this project we wanted to implement for a long time. That is why we decided to start from our problems, the ones we experience ourselves. The first one was anxiety. All members of our team had this problem. We tried to solve it by reading books about anxiety, taking courses, and consulting psychologists. That is how we came up with the idea to create a “Black Square” because anxiety is not the only problem that a person can have. The goal of the project was to increase trust in psychologists and to get answers to their questions.

The event participants touched upon questions such as a search for meaning, source of motivation, sincere emotions, and feelings. In particular, Liudmyla KOLISNYK emphasized the importance of individual therapy:

– As a psychologist, I understand that behind each of these questions is your individual story, your uniqueness. The answer to each question from this cycle, united by one topic, should be different in each particular case. What is the value of consultative work? The fact that you come to a psychologist, and he talks only about you.

However, the meeting was full of theoretical information and a basis for further work on mental health. During the conversation, some participants managed to understand the reasons for their problem and got comprehensive answers to important questions.

Oleksandr Kolesnykov. a participant of the event, shared his impression:

– This meeting was very useful for me because, due to this event and Liudmyla Oleksiivna, I truly reconsidered many things that I did not appreciate or pay attention to. For instance, my main problem was that I did not understand why I often woke up in a bad mood. The reason was that I went to bed late and did not monitor the quality of my sleep.

At the end of the event, the organizers, the guest psychologist, and the participants shared their feedback and expressed their hope to meet again.
