Two representatives of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU won the literary competition «My alma mater,» organised on the university's 75th anniversary. The awarding ceremony took place on 22nd November in the Literary Hall of the university library.

Traditionally, a new edition of the book «Sumy State University: history and modernity» was published to mark the anniversary, where poems of the competition's winners were issued.

–  It was enjoyable to see that teachers, postgraduates, and students of various specialities took place in the literary competition «My alma mater» – the contest united everyone. The authors of the poems put on paper the student life that was booming at our university several years ago and to which we all want to return, – said Olena SUSHKOVA, dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications.

– Getting acquainted with the works sent to the competition was extremely interesting and pleasant. It was challenging to choose the best ones because all of them were sincere and written from the heart. I hope that by the next anniversary, we will prepare not only a few poems for the book but a separate collection that will feature the voices of students, teachers, and graduates of our university – addressed to the audience Serhii PIATACHENKO, a jury member of the competition, head of the Sumy Regional Organisation of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine.

Another member of the jury, chairman of the Department of Journalism and Philology at SumDU and head of the Sumy Regional Organization of the NUJU, Volodymyr SADIVNYCHYI, told the audience about how the idea for the competition originated and about further work in the competition.

 –  - We didn't even expect that there would be that many works. On behalf of the jury, I am grateful to everyone for their participation, commitment, efforts, and inspiration! – noted Volodymyr SADIVNYCHYI.

According to the results of the competition, the second place went to a graduate Maryna KRYVSHENKO (now an assistant at the Department of Journalism and Philology Maryna SADIVNYCHA), the third place to a lecturer at the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens Inna LEVENOK.

Faculty FPSC of SumDU is proud of its talented students, teachers, graduates and wishes them creative development and inspiration!
