On January 17, students of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, visited the NGO «Sumy Society for the Protection of Animals» and helped to walk the dogs living in the shelter.

Twelve students of different specialities and Anna ZINCHENKO, Vice Dean for Extracurricular Activities and Accommodation Support, joined the event.

The students had a great time, and each member of the initiative group could choose a dog according to their temperament: calm or active.

It is an excellent benefit for the animals, as many of them came to the Sumy shelter from dangerous areas. Communication with people helps dogs socialise and return to a stable psychological state.

– Even in such cold weather, I am here because seeing the dogs' grateful eyes is the highest reward and a great consolation for me," said Angelika KALCHENKO, a student majoring in Philology.

– I got a great emotional release and satisfaction from helping the animals to feel needed," says future psychologist Kyrylo DEINEKA.

The group of FPSC activists will continue to visit the shelter and encourage representatives of other faculties to join the walks, as it helps the animals feel better.

You can visit the NGO «SPCA» and help walk the animals every Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00.
