On November 18, a ceremony took place to award the winners of the university stage of the "The Best Student - 2022" contest at Sumy State University Congress Centre. Students of the Faculty FPSC won three nominations:
Karyna Vedmydera (specialty "Philology") - "Research academic mobility";
Anton Shuhalieiev (specialty "Journalism") - "Sports discovery of the year";
Anna Shpurik and Artem Korol (specialty "Journalism") - "Best student media project".
Oleksandra Pavliv (specialty "Philology") also received a diploma as a recipient of the scholarship of the head of Sumy regional state administration.
This year's award ceremony demonstrated the versatility of our students in the best possible way, where each nomination is not limited to one winner - every contribution to the university's development and the native faculty is appreciated.
Karyna Vedmydera shared her impressions:
- To be honest, I thought until the last that I would not be able to win the nomination; I did not believe in my abilities too much. But the fact that I got this victory is the merit of my dad, Serhii Vedmydera, who insisted and strongly wanted me to go abroad and try something new there. I proudly bear this surname and am proud that this surname is among the best students of SumDU. I also want to share my award with the lecturers who constantly support me. In four years, we have already become Native People. Indeed, SumDU is also my family, supporting and encouraging me when it's difficult, opening a new path to the future, always by my side, and always in my heart!
Anna Shpurik and Artem Korol received an award for a joint media project:
- The victory in "The Best Student Media Project" nomination was a surprise to us. It turns out that you can get not only an incredible experience but also recognition from participating in various projects. However, for us, the victory in this nomination is primarily an incentive to further develop in the media sphere.
Anton Shuhalieiev also shared his impressions, modestly adding that he did not expect widespread congratulations for his sports achievements. Still, he is delighted to contribute to the development of his native university.
