The school media and young journalists of the Sumy Region festival "Media world leads to the universe - 23" started at the Faculty FPSC of Sumy State University. Organizers of the event: Department of Journalism and Philology, Sumy Press Club, Sumy Regional Organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, with the support of the Department of Education and Science of the Sumy Regional State Administration.

On November 16, an online press conference took place at the department of journalism and philology, during which representatives of the organizing committee talked about the specification of this year's event. The festival's theme - "I will put my word on the guard of Ukraine"- aimed at developing media literacy among children.

As the last time, the festival participants should reveal the topic not as a school essay but in the form of journalistic material.

As Volodymyr Sadivnychyi, co-chairman of the organizing committee, and head of the department of journalism and philology, informed, a competition of school media of the Sumy Region preceded the birth of the festival. This year, this event is taking place for the fourth time.

The heads of creative directions talked about the peculiarities of new event blocks, namely: the online language club "Let's talk", which will be supervised by a senior lecturer Olena Bondarenko; the online/offline media literacy school, headed by Oleksandr Horda, a journalist and lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Philology of Sumy State University; as well as the social advertising competition "The Eighth Colour", the head of which is the vice head of the department, Yaroslav Yanenko.

Member of the organizing committee and jury, associate professor of the Department of Journalism and Philology, Alla Yarova, drew attention to the importance of the nomination of the media contest "Best material aimed at popularizing the Ukrainian language as a factor of national identity, security, competitiveness".

 - Today, we see that this nomination, introduced before the full-scale war, has become even more relevant; it has shown how important language is for the identification of the nation and its unification against enemies. And there are many examples of that - emphasized Alla Yarova.

#the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy invites everyone to participate in the festival and take the first steps into the media world.
