Students, postgraduates, lecturers, and staff of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, took part in writing the All-Ukrainian radio dictation of national unity. Every year, the All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation unites hundreds of thousands of people from Ukraine and abroad. Still, on November 9, 2022, under martial law, the event became especially significant for all Ukrainians.

This year, Ukrainians wrote a radio dictation with the symbolic title "Your home" - relevant to the current situation, very sensitive and emotional. The dictation text was written by Ukrainian writer and director Iryna Tsilyk and read by National Artist of Ukraine Ada Rogovtseva. The Faculty FPSC, SumDU, wrote the dictation in an organized manner - in the classroom and online. Before the beginning of the writing, the Dean of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, Olena Sushkova, addressed the audience. She congratulated everyone on the occasion and suggested everyone remember our defenders at the front and honor the fallen's memory with a minute of silence.

«This is a significant event at the Faculty, a real holiday. Every year after writing the dictation, we discuss it together and share our thoughts and emotions. Today is a difficult time for us, so it is excellent that we were able to gather - some joined the writing in the classroom and some - online. It proves once again that even after a full-scale invasion, we remain together. Language is our weapon against the enemy. And today, the Ukrainian language is becoming more used among young people and the older generation. I wish everyone victory as soon as possible,» Olena Sushkova emphasized.

Senior lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Philology of SumDU Olena Bondarenko is convinced that the primary purpose of the dictation is to reflect the unity of the people, not to test knowledge.

«Ukraine is famous for its traditions. The radio dictation of national unity is a wonderful tradition aimed at uniting the nation, showing that even in such a difficult time, our people are united. The text is wonderful, and it touched the soul. Everyone understood something different. Despite everything, everyone wrote the dictation. Some - in the basement, some - in the bunker, some - in the classroom, some - abroad...».

For the first-year student majoring in Journalism, Veronika Misnik, writing a radio dictation was a new experience.

«Some people say that we do not exist. Our language, our traditions, and our Cossack lineage do not exist. But people who say this are ignorant zombies, and the Ukrainian people continue to fight and unite more and more people around their traditions. It happened to me too - it was my first radio dictation this year. The first time writing and such a heartfelt, sensitive text relevant to every Ukrainian was a special feeling and a symbolic moment that I will remember for a lifetime. Radio dictation unites! I am proud that our compatriots keep in touch with the Motherland, wherever they are in such a difficult time for us».

The participants will be able to check their results on November 11 - 11:00 on the website UA: Ukrainian Radio will publish the dictation text.

The #best_faculty_in_the_galaxy remains faithful to the tradition of celebrating the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language because our unity and strength are in the language. Together we will win!
