The student of the Department of Germanic Philology, SumDU, Daryna Hudakova, took part in the International Book Festival Lviv Book Forum, which took place on October 6-9 in online format.

Within the framework of the forum, about twenty events were held with the participation of more than forty authors from different parts of the world. The main topic of this year's book forum was war in Ukraine, so all events focused on this issue. They also spoke about such topics as women and war, money and culture, propaganda, war crimes and memory.

– I participated in such a forum for the first time and I was amazed at how good everything was organized. I learned about the event from the Instagram of my favourite writer Neil Gaiman – he became the speaker of one of the forum's events. From the first days of a full-scale invasion the writer supports Ukraine, helps refugees, – said Daryna.

It is difficult to overestimate the importance of this year’s forum, because such an event is an opportunity to explain to foreigners what and why is happening in our country and to touch on important, often inconvenient, topics. In addition, the organizers tried to show the Ukrainian audience how important our authors are for the international reading community. The unprecedented support of representatives of different countries and their willingness to help us in the fight against the aggressor is impressive.
