On 19 September, a lecture on writing scientific works took place at the department of Germanic Philology of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU. Lecturers, 4th-academic-year bachelors, and masters were the participants of the event.
During the lecture, participants studied the technical points of research project defense, typical mistakes in structure and semantic content of works, and rules to follow while compiling illustrative material.
Besides, the participants of the event got the advice to work with the scientometric database Scopus, online libraries, and SumDU Institutional Repository and got acquainted with the research capacity of national, linguistic corpora British National Corpus and Corpus of Contemporary American English.
Complying with academic integrity norms received considerable attention. Students got acquainted with the anti-plagiarism service StrikePlagiarism and learned how to analyze the scientist's integrity according to the plagiarism check protocol.
