While working on qualification works and projects, students of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, actively apply STEAM education tools for comprehensive research and solving current problems.

A graduate of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural technologies(specialty "Management of Social and Cultural activity"), Alona Pavlenko studying in her qualification work the potential of the cycling industry of Sumy region, used a tool to map the cultural and historical heritage of territorial communities.

Department of Promotion and Tourism Sumy Region State Administration commissioned the project. The study's relevance is due to the low demand for cycling trips in Sumy region and the lack of tours of this format of adequate quality.

As a part of the project, she set up two cycling routes through picturesque places in Sumy region. The first one follows the banks of the river Psel to Stare Selo, and the second one goes through forests to the village of Kyianytsia. Together with the preparation of the cycle routes, she set up a cultural and historical heritage passport.

The second route, to the village of Kyianytsia, is especially interesting from a historical and cultural point of view. It starts in the town of Sumy (near the Altankа), then continues to the village of Zelenyi Hai, where travelers can visit Zelenohaiskyi archaeological complex (2 settlements, a small village, a burial kurgan, and an underground cemetery from the VIII-XIII centuries) - a monument of national importance).

The next point of the route is the ruined Mykolaivska Church in the village Pushkarivka, and further on - to the village Vakalivshchyna, where the natural hydrological monument of local importance Vakalivske dzherelo is located. The route ends in the village Kiyanytsa, near Kharytonenko-Lishchynski's estate.

An important component of STEAM education is integrating multidisciplinary knowledge and its active use in practice. The projects developed and implemented by students of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, clearly demonstrate the results of this approach in the training of a high-quality practitioner.
