The Faculty FPSC of SumDU is actively developing international collaboration with foreign universities. One form of such cooperation is virtual academic mobility. 

Under the collaboration agreement between Sumy State University and Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges in Nabua, Philippines, an international virtual mobility programme has been launched, involving 60+ Ukrainian students and 100+ Filipino students.

The programme coordinator from SumDU is Alla Krasulia, Vice Dean for International Relations, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Germanic Philology. The coordinator from the partner institution is J. Murillo, Associate Professor, Director, Center for International Linkages and Affairs, Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. 

Participation in the programme is for SumDU students within the discipline “English Language: Communication Strategies” taught by Head of Foreign Languages Department, Ass. Prof. Nataliia Tatsenko, and “Basics of Speech Communication Theory” taught by Senior Lecturer of Department of Germanic Philology Iryna Ushchapovska.

The programme coordinator Alla Krasulia said that the online co-education of students from Ukraine and the Philippines would promote not only professional (language and speech) skills but also the development of intercultural awareness:

– Shaping intercultural awareness is a key to implementing the communication process between different cultures representatives. It is a readiness to accept the values and behavior of others, to listen, to observe, to be flexible in communication and to be able to resolve conflict situations.

Teachers and students of the faculty of FPSC of SumDU are happy to join various international programs, and virtual academic mobility is an excellent opportunity to gain new knowledge, experience, expand their social circle, especially during quarantine restrictions.
