The first weeks of studying at the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, have passed, that is why lecturers and students are already involved in studying after the summer holidays. It is common knowledge that every summer lecturers of our Faculty have many practical activities: training, research, and new achievements. 

Associate Professors of the Department of Journalism and Philology Volodymyr Sadivnychyi, Iryna Zhylenko, Tetiana Kovalova, and assistant Olena Ishchenko worked hard to improve their qualifications. During the summer, they took several training courses and enriched their knowledge of new teaching and journalistic skills tools. 

Lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology are also moving ahead. Digital media innovations, current topics of Linguocultural Studies, and electronic technologies in education are far from the whole list of issues that Senior lecturers Oksana Brovkina, Iryna Ushchapovska, Svitlana Ermolenko, and Associate Professor Diana Movchan covered. Senior lecturer Alla Krasulia successfully completes Grant Professional Development Program for Higher Education Administrators in disciplines like international relations, internationalization, management of international projects (Training for Higher Education Administrators in Ukraine (THEA Ukraine)) financially supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). 

Representatives of the Foreign Languages Department also actively spent the summer. Associate Professor Alla Diadechko and Senior lecturers Svitlana Zolotova, Svitlana Mikhno, Tetiana Aleksakhina attended a lot of webinars. Associate Professors Liudmyla Hnapovska and Iryna Liashenko took part in the TESOL-Ukraine summer Institute's work with their presentations and a project from the British Council and Advance HE (UK) the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine joint project. 

Senior lecturer Tetiana Plokhuta participated in the II International Advanced Training Program "Together with prominent leaders of today: values, experience, knowledge, competencies, and technologies for the formation of a successful personality and the transformation of the world" from The International Historical Biographical Institute. 

This summer, Senior lecturer Mariia Sushko-Bezdenezhnykh headed the German Center Department of Foreign Languages, and its students took exams at the Goethe-Institute Ukraine. Associate Professor Rymma Mylenkova led the international working group on civilian education "Art for Act", realizing the programme "Make it Visible: focus SDGs". She also was a curator of the International Poster Competition on civilian education "The Art of Living Online" and prepared the catalogue "The Art of Living Online" for publication. 

Yuliia Savelieva, a lecturer at the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies, has successfully completed an OSCE training course for gender advisers. Specialists of the department Alona Berlet took part in a "round table" aimed to create a shelter for women and mothers affected by home violence in Sumy.

Scientific conferences – is a particular type of summer activity of the lecturers of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU. Especially Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Philology Iryna Zhylenko spoke at the sectional meeting of the First international conference «European values in Ukrainian education: calls and perspectives». Associate Professor Yaroslav Yanenko took part in the international scientific and theoretical conference «Scientific Forum: Theory and Practice of Research» (Valencia, Spain).

Senior lecturer of the Department of Germanic Philology Alla Krasulia and Professor Iryna Kobyakova took part in V International scientific conference « Implementation of European standards in Ukrainian educational research » and got certificates of participants.

Associate Professor of the Foreign Languages Department ​​Iryna Liashenko worked at the V International Scientific Online Conference UADO / the 5th International UERA Online Conference "Quality Assurance in Teaching Languages ​​as the Main EU Priority".

Research work did not stop at the Faculty FPSC.

Volodymyr Sadivnychyi, Yaroslav Yanenko, Halyna Chulanova, Andriana Kostenko continued to work on the implementation of the scientific topic «Specialized system of medical information and personal security in pandemics, crises, other social upheavals: the formation of an effective socio-communicational model» sponsored by the National fund of researches of Ukraine.

Liudmyla Hnapovska completed the report about the NDR «Methodology and methods of creating of speech competencies in the teaching and evaluation of foreign languages».

The Center of Social Research of the Faculty of FPSC has started several projects supported by the «Renaissance Foundation» and ULEAD. The Gender Resource Center has joined to create a protection system for victims of domestic violence in Sumy region.

The treasury of the Faculty FPSC gained certificates of copyright registration for the work. In particular, intellectual property registered Iryna Ushchapovska, Nataliia Tatsenko, Tetiana Plokhuta.

And, finally, a few more summer achievements that are worth mentioning. Alla Krasulia received a diploma of the winner of the competition in the nomination «Implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in the educational process (AI), use of existing software products» for her work «Application of artificial intelligence technologies for learning foreign languages ​​and teaching translation». Iryna Zhylenko received a Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages ​​(English, Level B2). Yaroslav Yanenko - the Doctor of Science in Social Communications diploma, specialty «Applied Social Communication Technologies». The decision of the attestation board was approved on June 29, 2021.

The Faculty FPSC, SumDU – is a strong team of active, creative, and talented lecturers, in love with their work, ready to learn, develop and share their knowledge with students.
