“Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Land Affairs (1918–1920)” is the title of a book just published by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. It was arranged by Tetiana Hryshchenko (Giliazetdinova), a graduate of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU.

The represented book is a collection of archive materials about the scientific and organizational activity of the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Land Affairs, which is the predecessor of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. Tetiana has worked on it for 7 years.

Tetiana Hryshchenko is PhD in History, the author of more than 100 scientific papers on historical personalitics, history of national agrarian science, education and research, the former employee of the National Scientific Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, where she built her career from leading librarian to the supervisor of archive and document sectors. She currently works as a translator and tutor, as well as performing commercial orders as a content editor. Moreover, she is also engaged in research.

However, the path to great science began right here in SumDU, where Tetiana studied to be a translator. She says that the university has provided a strong basis for her current activities. Thus, she remembers her student years with trembling:

– Studying at SumDU played an important role in my personal development. We were the first graduates, that got diplomas on specialty “Translation” specializing  in “Journalism”. With great respect I think about my lecturers Olena Tkachenko, Volodymyr Sadivnychyi and Vasyl Chubur, with which I still have friendly relationships. I gained a lot of important knowledge at the university. For example, my skills in text editing, page making and design helped me significantly in this collection arranging.

After graduating in 2007, Tetiana Hryshchenko began working at the National Scientific Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. In the same year she entered postgraduate studies in the field of “History of Science and Technology”, in 2011 she defended her thesis on “Wolf M.M. (1880–1933). A statesman, scientist and one of the agricultural research organizers in Ukraine.”

In 2016, she completed her doctoral studies at the National Scientific Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. During the work on the doctoral thesis she started to collect the materials, which were later included in the publication “Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Land Affairs (1918–1920)”.

– The work is so interesting that I want to dive into it more and more. This is generally an endless process, as even some related areas can considerably complement the picture of the study. You study each of them carefully and supplement the main work with them, and then other facets are revealed.

Graduates of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU are gifted and interesting personalities. They know how to study and work, they know that every professional victory is a new start for further development.
