The Faculty FPSC of SumDU has won eight prizes in the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the fields of knowledge and specialties. This is the best result in the last ten years.

In the field of "Social Work" a diploma of the second degree was awarded a student of the Department of Psychology of Political Science and Sociocultural Technologies Inna Kravchenko (supervisor - Associate Professor Olena Kupenko).

The topic of Inna Kravchenko's research work: "Social prevention of human trafficking problem with the help of forum-theater in online format". The work was built in several stages - first, a number of focus groups were implemented among students from different fields on the level of their awareness of the problem. Then, basing on the results, a forum-theater was held. The girl enthusiastically talks about her project and emphasizes that the prize is not only her merit, because several people were involved in the implementation:

- A huge role in the project belongs to the supervisor - Olena Kupenko. She is a professional in her field: she listens all ideas, provides comments, answers all questions, and she is ready to help and support. Moreover, always in touch, which is very necessary when working online. There is also a group of non-professional actors of our forum-theater - students majoring in "Social Work". They showed a scene based on the problem of human trafficking.

The student is satisfied with the result, she says that victory is nice, especially when you work in a team of like-minded people. But the most important thing is to understand that work brings practical benefits to people.

The treasury of the Department of Journalism and Philology was replenished with two diplomas of the second degree.

In the field of knowledge "Journalism" the award was won by Anastasiia Diedova and Diana Zubar (supervisor - Associate Professor Olena Sushkova). "Ukrainian language and literature (with the methods of their teaching)" brought a diploma of the second degree to Leila Vyshniak (supervisor - Associate Professor Olha Sydorenko).

The work of Diana Zubar and Anastasiia Diedova was based on the results obtained by students in the process of research topic "Specialized system of medical information and personal security in pandemic, crises and other social problems: the formation of an effective socio-communication model" supported by NFDU.

Leila Vyshniak, sharing her emotions about the victory, noted that she thanks for the prize to the supervisor Olha Sydorenko, because it was her guidance and support in scientific research that helped to get a high result:

- It was very interesting to work on the topic, especially this practical part - comparing the presentation of materials by Sumy and Uzhhorod mass media. I did not hoped for a prize, but I am glad of such a result.

Students of the Department of Germanic Philology were awarded prizes in three fields of knowledge at once.

First degree diplomas in the field of "Translation" were awarded to Alona Kovalenko (supervisor - Professor Iryna Kobyakova) and Valeriia Rava (supervisor – Associate Professor Antonina Prokopenko).

Yuliia Kozlova (supervisor - Associate Professor Olesia Yehorova) was awarded a diploma of the second degree in the specialization "Germanic languages (English, German)", Daryna Melnyk (supervisor – seniour lecturer Olena Ovsianko) received a diploma of the third degree.

Mariia Rudenko won the second degree diploma in Sociolinguistics (supervisor - lecturer Olena Nazarenko)

The key to successful work is high-quality interaction of the student with the supervisor. Olena Nazarenko says that her scientific collaboration with Mariia Rudenko began when she was a sophomore. The student responded to the teacher's encouragement to try herself in scientific work.

- Even then, Mariia was attracted to the topic of her own names in film discourse. The result was the student's participation in the conference "Translation Innovations". Continuing the topic, Mariia prepared abstracts in English for the Faculty FPSC conference. However, the work did not stop there - the empirical material was selected and updated, the theoretical base was expanded. This year, in addition to the philological direction, we decided to develop a sociolinguistic one. Co-authored an article in a professional journal. We wanted to show our own practical significance of the research results for society, and we succeeded. Mariia presented the research professionally and very emotionally at the competition and received positive feedback from the jury members.

Students of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU - winners of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the fields of knowledge and specialties know that scientific work requires time, diligence and perseverance, but they are not afraid. By studying the scientific literature, working on empirical material and summarizing the results of research, they increase their professional level, develop as individuals and replenish the treasury of their own achievements. So do not be afraid of difficulties, belief in your own forces and hard work always bring great results.
