The defences of the qualification works of Masters in "Philology" and "Journalism" took place at the faculty FPSC of SumDU.

The defence of master's theses in the specialty "Philology" were held remotely, with the use of electronic technologies. Despite the challenges of the new form of communication, higher education students submitted reports in English to their qualification works. They demonstrated a high level of proficiency in a foreign language, as well as showed awareness in studying current trends of translation science.

- For almost six years, students taught, composed, defended projects, acquiring professional knowledge, - said the head of the Department of Germanic Philology, Professor Iryna Kobyakova. - It is nice to see resolute faces and hear confident voices (unfortunately, only online) at the defence of master’s qualification works. Education is completed, independent work is waiting for you. Therefore, we wish the graduates not to lose their optimism and enthusiasm that accompanied them during their years of study.

The defence of the qualification works by the Masters in "Journalism" and "Advertising and Public Relations" educational programmes took place in a mixed format that is, it combined traditional one in the  classroom and online defence. All works were reviewed both internally and externally and received positive feedback from reviewers - researchers from other higher educational institutions. Several works have been written and defended in English.

 - It's nice that works are of applied character - shared impressions the head of the Department of Journalism and Philology, Professor Olena Tkachenko. - All Master's graduates already have experience in journalism in various media, their work is interesting, tested and successfully reviewed.

The defence of Master's works is one of the steps on the way to a successful professional future. Let this path be interesting and allow our graduates to unleash their potential, and the knowledge and experience provided by the faculty FPSC of SumDU help to become true professionals.
