Representatives of the faculty FPSC of SumDU have won the motivational video contest of the International Republican Institute (IRI) "Why Do We Vote", organized with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The video "Your voice is important", made by a creative group of students and graduate students of the faculty FPSC of  SumDU "Backstage of Life" was recognized as the best in the nomination "Art-video". The second victory in this nomination was won by a graduate of our faculty, and now - the head of the Media Center of SumDU Maryna Osiukhina.

Project "Why do we vote?" included a series of training webinars, personal consultations with trainers, and a campaign to distribute video winners among voters. The final stage of the project was an online discussion, where the winners were announced.

Participants in the discussion: Iryna Vivchar, communicator of the HONEST Movement, Svitlana Kolodii, coordinator of the Stick To Yourself initiative, Maksym Onoprienko, member of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, project trainers: media technologist, trainer on institutional foundations of public organizations, medialiterace basis and public relations Olena Kvasha, journalist and media technologist Andrii Bohdanovych, as well as the finalists of the competition.

Totally 67 works of participants from different parts of Ukraine were submitted to the jury. The top 15 were shown on the page of the International Republican Institute (IRI) on Facebook. Some videos have been selected for television.

- "Why do we vote?", In my opinion, is a great example of a project implemented under quarantine, without significant qualitative and quantitative losses, - says coach Olena Kvasha. - Moreover, this is the first competition held by the International Republican Institute in Ukraine. For me, it was also a challenge, because I had almost no experience in organizing work on the demanded by participants topics, mostly in online conditions. I had to adjust lectures, practical tasks for online education, develop consultation formats. By the way, I think that the introduction of counseling as an additional segment helped a lot, because individual work with participants allowed to analyze in more details the ideas of the videos, the nuances of shooting, editing. For me personally, the project is a story about cool, motivated people with ideas and the desire to change. I was very happy to help them!

Yuliia Koval, a member of “Backstage of Life group”, also shared her impressions of the contest:

- For the second year in a row, our creative group is creating social videos on various topics. This is important for us, because we have the opportunity to express our own opinion on the social problems that exist in society. It is very nice when your work is not only reviewed, but also "seen", they understand the idea, its significance and importance.

#best_faculty_in_the_galaxy congratulates the winners and wishes further development and new interesting ideas.
