The student of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU Anna Soldatenko (specialty "Psychology") has received a personal scholarship of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2020/21 academic year, which is assigned to students who have particular achievements in educational and research work.

 – It was an ordinary morning, I was making tea and preparing for a class, – the scholarship owner remembers a special moment. – And suddenly the news of receiving the scholarship came to me. The happiness was incredible! If I could, I would start dancing!

The versatility of this girl is really amazing. At the same time Anna is receiving a second education at SumDU in specialty "Philology", is actively involved in the student life – she is the first vice student dean of the Faculty FPSC, the leader of the group, and also she has time for volunteering.

During the three years of studying, she has published six abstracts and a scientific article, she conducts trainings and lectures on psychology for schoolchildren, students and for anyone interested in it. She teaches the interpersonal communication, self-knowledge, conflict resolution, teamwork, psychological flexibility and time management. Dozens of events have already been carried out by her – student forums, English-speaking camps, schools etc.

Anna tells gratefully about the people inspiring her:

– I would not have been so successful without mentors. I am infinitely grateful to all lecturers of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies. They are excellent specialists and good mentors. There are a lot of things we can learn from them. And special gratitude is to Nataliia Teslyk, because most of my works were done under her supervising.

In response of the question why psychology and science are so attractive, the student answered:

– We suppose that we know ourselves well enough but our subconsciousness is as uncharted as space, although it is much closer – inside us. The study of psychology is the exploration of the unknown, which arouses a genuine interest in learning more and helping others.

Also it is worth mentioning the scholarship owner’s hobbies, she is fond of taking photos, playing the ukulele guitar, writing poems and songs, learning foreign languages and she takes up yoga and meditation from time to time.

The student awarded the scholarship shared some secrets that help her in self-organization. Firstly, planning plays an important role. Anna organizes her activities to manage everything in time and not drown in business. Rest is equally important. Even if there are a lot to do but the body needs a rest, it is better to change the type of activity completely for a day or two. It is more efficient than working half-heartedly. Moreover, it is worth engaging in hobbies to achieve the goal, because it is important to enjoy not only the result but also the whole process. And, of course, you should not bite off more than you can chew if you are not sure that you do it well. And it is very important to surround yourself with the inspiring people and things.

The credo of student is not to build expectations but to enjoy the moment "here and now" and try to get the most out of every meeting, event, practice or work.

#the best_faculty_in_the_galaxy is proud of its  student and congratulates her on her landmark achievement. We are grateful to Anna for her perseverance and diligence. It is nice when our stars shine more and more over the years!
