Graduates-bachelors 2020 of the faculty FPSC SumDU are receiving diplomas. Because of the quarantine restrictions, the traditional graduation had to be moved online, but this did not diminish the significance of the event for both the faculty and for yesterday's students.
The Dean of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU Olena Sushkova reminded that the last semester was a challenge for everyone. However, social distancing did not worsen the quality of education, and moreover, it proved the ability of lecturers and students to respond to challenges adequately, to overcome life difficulties.
The Head of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies (PPST) Nina Svitailo claims that this year graduates prepared a base for future master's program and, most importantly, for new students.
This year, the first graduations took place at the Department of PPST in two specialties “Psychology” and “Management of Socio-Cultural Activity.” A significant achievement was the granting of the Bachelor's degree programme “Psychology” accreditation at the “A” level exemplary.
The Head of the Department of Journalism and Philology Olena Tkachenko will remember this year bachelor's graduates as creative and talented. They showed themselves in most spheres of activity of the department: trainings, international grant programmes, vocational schools, academies, seminars and conferences, etc. Olena Tkachenko sincerely hopes for further cooperation with them and is looking forward to their master's degree.
Iryna Kobyakova, the Head of the Department of Germanic Philology, speaks about the graduates with warmth and respect: “Today, former freshmen receive diplomas – one of the first and most important documents of adult life. Always remember and be proud that you are a graduate of Sumy State University”.
As a result of activity during their studies, some of the graduates received also awards for high research and educational achievements, active participation in the life of the faculty and international academic mobility programmes, active citizenship, as well as for significant contribution to the faculty development and specialization.
For the graduates themselves, graduation evokes mixed emotions – the joy of receiving a diploma, the sadness for the faculty that managed to become a native and gratitude to those who four years dedicated their time and experience, helped them grow and develop, become true professionals in their field.
“I am in love with my university, which gives 1000 and 1 opportunity, conditions for development and a feeling of freedom”, shares a graduate of «Psychology» Bohdana Kostiuk, “I just adore my lecturers and look forward to the opening of the master’s program to meet again.”
Alina Ponomarenko, a graduate of the degree programme “Germanic Languages and Literature (Translation included)” says: “At first it was very difficult – a lot of tears, a bunch of texts and nights without sleep. But then you get used to everything, you realize what the lecturers do for us, all their tasks and comments are for the better! If I had the opportunity, I would repeat these 4 years! The Department of Germanic Philology is a big friendly family.”
“#the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy has become a good friend to me. It revealed to me the secrets of wisdom. In order to have professional success, you must love the business you do and do what you love,” says Kateryna Shestak, a graduate of the specialty “Journalism”.
For fans of statistics, we note: the diplomas of the degree programme “bachelor” in 2020 were received by 159 graduates of the faculty FPSC of SumDU for six degree programmes; 13 – diplomas with honors; 21 – awarded with letters of commendation, gratitude, rewards for educational, scientific, international and extracurricular achievements.
