Student of specialty Journalism at the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social ComunicationS of SumDU Kateryna Shestak took part in the All-Ukrainian student contest of essays. The organizers of the competition: "How coronavirus will influence European integration and solidarity: a trial by crisis, chances for renewal" were Ukrainian Association of Professors and Researchers of European Integration.
The main goal of the contest organizers intended in gaining mutual reflection on possible improvements caused by coronavirus, in the medical, environmental, economic, political and other areas in Europe and in particular in Ukraine. The participants had to speculate on how the coronavirus could affect European integration, whether the trial by crisis is absolutely negative, whether there are chances to renew European solidarity and strengthen European virtues, which life lessons we must learn in the future.
- I saw the announcement of the competition, - says Kateryna Shestak , - and decided to try. The essay I wrote together and with my best friend, Roman Voloshyn last year's graduate of Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin. I think it turned out well. And, despite us not winning, participation in such a competition was a great experience, because it made us think about important social issues and find the positive aspects of the situation.
