The meeting with the team of experts of the grant project "DESTIN - Journalistic education for democracy in Ukraine: development of standards, integrity, and professionalism" took place at the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU.

The team of experts included: EJTA (European Journalism Training Association) President, Windesheim University (Netherlands) Nico Drok, Education Quality Expert of World University Service (Austria) Mark Schwartz, Public Radio representative Konstiantyn Kovalishyn, and representative of  Ukrainian Association of Students Iryna Kondratenko.

During the meeting, the guests communicated with lecturers, postgraduates, students and graduates, as well as employers, visited the TV and radio studios of the  University department, evaluated the logistics and practical training of future journalists. The content and structure of the training programs of journalists, their practical component and perspectives of journalism of the future were the main topics of the international polylogue.

The purpose of the DESTIN project is to align journalism training programs in Ukraine with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), in particular with  European standards of integrity and professionalism, and to improve student media relations. It is about reformatting the disciplines in such a way that each one contributes to the development of the well-defined professional competencies of the contemporary journalist.

At the same time, the international cooperation, which representatives of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU contributed to, is aimed at increasing the media literacy of the society, in which journalists will work.
