Lecturers and staff of the Faculty FPSC took an active part in organizing and conducting the II (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian competition for the defence of research works by the students-members of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which took place on February 18-19 at the SumDU.

The students of the Academy of Sciences, whose works were evaluated by the representatives of the departments of our faculty, presented their works at the departments of "Philosophy and Social Studies", "Literary Studies, Folklore and Art Studies" and "Linguistics".
The first stage was the basic disciplines test writing, the next - the presentation by the students of their own research projects.
- The works were both strong and weak, - shared her impressions the Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies Hanna Ulunova, - however, all the students made a great contribution to science. The young people were delighted to present their projects. The first place was given to a rather powerful work. We have a tendency for the winners of the regional stage to win prizes at the all-Ukrainian level, so we wish them success.
Associate professor of Department of PPSCT Andriana Kostenko, who worked with young philosophers, sociologists and religious scholars, told about the high level of young scientists training:
- For the most part, students of the tenth forms are presenting their scientific studies, eleven forms students are not so numerous. But all the works are serious and interesting. This year, children focused on practice, raised up current issues. For example, research on the role of chaplains at the front is a reflection of the fact that young people are really interested and concerned about contemporary events.
Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Philology, Inna Havryliuk, spoke about the peculiarities of the scientific research defence in the Journalism section:
- In their works, students did not focus on global, wide-ranging topics, but focused on the development of media in our region. And this is good because it helps to reproduce the picture of the current state of the development of Sumy media and to trace their formation.
The juries of the sections unanimously say that the students are touching on interesting topics and presenting their work at a high level, in spite that someone is at the regional stage for the first time and someone has already had experience in public defence. We wish the winners success at the All-Ukrainian stage, and to all others - not to lose their passion and boldly embark on further scientific journeys. Science is an ocean with many uncharted areas. And the #the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy is always ready to become a guide and assistant in submersible diving.
