The Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications of SumDU continues to cooperate with «Ukrainian Fashion Week». Olha Padalka, Oksana Hirman and Anastasiia Hryshchuk, students of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies, became volunteers of first this year`s Ukrainian fashion show.
«Ukrainian Fashion Week» is one of the most important events in Ukraine's fashion industry. The show brings together over 60 participants and 15,000 visitors each season. Therefore, participating in such a large-scale event is a great experience for future managers of socio-cultural activities, a chance to make useful acquaintances and to demonstrate their professional skills.
- For «Ukrainian Fashion Week» volunteers, it is a great opportunity to join the world of the Ukrainian fashion industry, to see the organization of this event from the inside. - Says Olha Padalka. - It was not easy, but interesting. Every day is something new. At first I worked with journalists and organizers on the media space, then in the hall. I helped change locations, prepare the podium for the show. I enjoyed the process a lot, because I felt part of something great.
- This is a tremendous experience - says Oksana Hirman - we have seen from the inside how it is organized, how they think over every detail. We did a bit of everything. We wore chairs and benches, communicated with visitors, checked invitations, escorted guests to their seats, worked in the dressing room... In general, we were "fighters of the invisible front", we were responsible for many small, but important things. Impressions? Only positive. We were very tired, but it was a pleasant fatigue.
- For eight seasons, students of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies have been participating in the organization of one of the largest events in Ukraine, - said Valentyna Opanasiuk, coordinator of SumDU cooperation with «Ukrainian Fashion Week». - Students perform various assignments and gain communication skills, teamwork, as they work with designers, models, star guests and the press. Undergraduates can also become not just volunteers, but also get positions as group leaders.
Within the framework of the «Ukrainian Fashion Week» event, students Anastasiia Hryshchuk and Oksana Hirman visited the Fashion Summit, which discussed the issues: «Can Conscious Consumption Save the Planet?», «Sustainable Fashion Strategy: From Growing Raw Materials to Safe Utilization», «Eco Fashion and Eco-Friendly Fashion».
Students of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications are always in the trend of fashion, music, creativity, science, education... With bright colors, they spell out their path to life during their university years, participating in such landmark events. It helps not only to gain experience, acquire skills, but also become a bright star of the #the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy.
