Postgraduate students of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, took a free English academic writing course as part of the joint project with the Czech UPN project "AgriSciences Platform for the Development of Science in Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions."

The course ran six weeks from March 2024 to the end of April and was conducted on the Canvas learning management system in an asynchronous mode and focused on honing academic writing skills and preparing scientific articles in English for publication in indexed journals.

The developer and course leader, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics, is Irina Liashenko.

Both young and experienced researchers from five Ukrainian universities participated in the course. Young researchers from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CZU) - postgraduate students of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTA) - also joined the course.

From the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, postgraduate students Maria Rudenko, majoring in "Philology," and Artur Tatianchenko, majoring in "Journalism," participated in the course.

-I would like to thank this course and project for the knowledge I received.  I mostly enjoyed this course's flexibility, as I could perform my tasks when and where I could. The diversity of assignments was essential when we had not only quizzes but also peer-reviewing tasks and writing. Now I have an idea of how the article is written. I have a list of vocabulary I can use in my future writing. And I have learnt different life hacks to make my article better and more valuable. Thank you for this course, and I wish all the students good luck with their future research! Mariia Rudenko shared her impressions from the course.

-As a beginner in this field, I found the course excellent and exciting. My expectations were lower than it turned out to be. I found a lot of new and interesting things to learn. In particular, I benefited from the vocabulary and colleague feedback, which often included details I had not seen myself. I hope more people can take this course in the future and discover something new, noted Artur Tatianchenko.

Upon the course completion, participants received certificates from the Czech partner for participating in academic mobility.
