On April 27th, a student forum called "Admission to the master's degree: an UNcomplicated choice" was held at Sumy State University. The participants of this event were representatives of various institutes and faculties of the university, including representatives of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU.

The main aim of the student forum is to discuss the benefits of studying in the magistracy, the features of different specialties, the ways of using a master's diploma, and to help current bachelors make a choice.

The speakers of the panel discussions were undergraduates and graduates of various specialties of the university, who were able to tell truthfully about whether they regretted their choice, about the advantages of studying at master's programmes, and about career opportunities with a master's degree.

The master's student of the specialty Politology, Mykhailo Melnyk, represented the Faculty FPSC at the event. He told his story of entering the mastership programme, explained why he made such a choice, and whether he met the expectations.

Before joining FPSC, Mykhailo studied history at the Academic and Research Institute of Law SumDU. He was not going to study in the mastership programme, because he went to work as a student. It was the work that later encouraged Mykhailo to enter the magistracy. In the fourth year, he began to engage in social projects and cooperate with public organizations. He drew attention to the specialty of Politology at the advice of the head of the Department of History, Serhii Dehtiarov, and later talked with representatives of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies and realized that this specialty was what he needed. After a year of studying, Mykhailo confidently says he made the right choice because he received the knowledge and skills that were missing.

"Work helps you study better, and studying helps you do your work better."

We remind you that in 2024, the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, is recruiting for a master's degree in the following specialties: Philology, Political Studies, Psychology, and Journalism. Read more about entering the mastership programmes at the faculty by following the link.
