Translation students of the Faculty FPSC SumDU together with lecturers  Olena Yemelianova and Alla Krasulia took part in the Autumn Virtual Meeting took part in the Autumn Virtual Meeting of the "DG Translation", organised by the European Commission.

The meeting was international in nature and brought together 381 participants from many countries and organizations, including Sumy State University.

According to the organizers, the event aim was to research, analyze and discuss the main work aspects of European Commission translators. The discussion topic was the necessary knowledge and skills of a translator, the role of modern technologies in the work of a translator, career opportunities in translation.

During the meeting, much attention was paid to the algorithms of a translator's work, their professional responsibilities, the difficulties they may face in the course of translation activities, and the impact of artificial intelligence. Discussion of these key aspects of a translator's work gave the participants a true understanding and a realistic view of the specifics of translation.

For the visitors, the information received is important both for further education and knowledge acquisition and for work in the translation field. During the meeting, the visitors received information on career opportunities, delved into the specifics of the translation process, found out how to apply for an internship at the European Commission's "DG Translation", and learned about the use of advanced technologies in translation.
