Maryna SADIVNYCHA, Assistant of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty FPSC SumDU, took part in an international internship in the Czech Republic under the programme "Training of Young Journalists and the Specifics of Regional Media in the Czech Republic and Ukraine" from the 27th of November to the 1st of December.

The internship was part of the international project "Improving the quality of training for Young Journalists in Ukraine" from the Association for International Affairs of the Czech Republic (Asociace pro mezinárodní otázky/Association for International Affairs). Thirteen teachers from different universities in Ukraine took part in the study tour.

The internship programme was extraordinarily intense and included activities in three cities - Prague, Vienna and Brno. During the trip, the participants met representatives of the media community from Ukraine and the Czech Republic, including media experts of the Commission on Journalistic Ethics Tetiana LEBEDIEVA, representative of Texty.org. ua Halyna PASTUKH, Oksana STAVRO, an expert at the Ukrainian Media Centre in Vienna, as well as Michal SHTIASTNY, editor-in-chief of the online media outlet Brnenska gossip (Brněnská drbna) columnist Brnenska drbna, and Jana USTOHALOVA, a journalist at Deník N and a lecturer at Masaryk University. They visited the editorial offices of Czech Radio and Czech Television Brno, where they learned about the peculiarities of the work of regional offices of public broadcasters, visited the Department of Journalism at Masaryk University, and talked to representatives of the press services of the South Moravian Region Administration and Masaryk University.

At the end of the trip, Ukrainian university representatives visited Radio Liberty's headquarters in Prague, where they met with the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian edition, Mariana DRACH.

- I am happy that I had the opportunity to participate in the internship. It was interesting to compare how regional media work in Ukraine and the Czech Republic, to get acquainted with the activities of press services, and to assess the peculiarities of training future journalists. I am confident that the experience gained during the trip will be useful in various aspects of my professional activity," noted Maryna SADIVNYCHA.

The materials collected during the internship and participation in the project will be used to prepare the academic disciplines of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty FPSC SumDU.
