Arina STOLBTSOVA, Alina SAVCHUK and Kostiantyn RODCHENKO, students of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, have become the winners of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research works “Personality – society – war: socio-political, psychological, socio-cultural aspects”.

The aim of the competition is to study the socio-political attitudes and orientations of different social strata, social-psychological factors of stabilization and integration of Ukrainian society to outline the vectors of post-war development in Ukraine.

The final online conferences of the second stage of the Competition in the directions of “Social and socio-pedagogical studies” and “Socio-political studies” were held at Khmelnytskyi National University.

In total, over 200 papers from 69 higher education institutions were submitted to the competition.

In the direction of “Social and socio-pedagogical studies”, 45 papers were submitted from 21 higher education institutions in Ukraine. 29 studies were admitted. After review, 11 papers were selected for the final conference.

During the defense, the participants demonstrated in-depth knowledge, analytical thinking, and research skills. Arina Stolbtsova's work stood out for its scientific content and breadth of coverage. The jury unanimously awarded Arina STOLBTSOVA, a student of the Department of Journalism and Philology at the Faculty of FPSC, SumDU, the first place.

In turn, Alina Savchuk and Kostiantyn Rodchenko conducted research in the direction of “Socio-political studies”. The jury selected the top 18 papers out of nearly 60 from 18 educational institutions of Ukraine.

The topics corresponded to the challenges of the present: critical thinking as a tool to counter narratives of information warfare; Ukraine's policy regarding brain drain during wartime and post-war periods; national identity of Ukrainians against the backdrop of Russian military aggression; the phenomenon of heroism in the national-patriotic education of modern Ukrainian society; Russia's war against Ukraine and the new world order; political consciousness of Ukrainians; European integration of Ukraine; information warfare as a component of armed conflict; media education through the prism of war and others.

Alina Savchuk, a student of the Department of German Philology, won second place with her work “Caricature in the genre space of mass media political discourse”.

Kostiantyn Rodchenko, a master's student of the Department of Journalism and Philology at the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, won third place with his work "The role of media in the process of conducting an anti-Russian information-psychological campaign."
