Anna Shcherbak, a third-year student at the Department of German Philology of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, won the Literary Translation Contest-2023 held at Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University.

The participants got artistic writings of modern German authors for translation. The originality of the approach to reproducing the author's style, the use of artistic means, the cuteness, and the uniqueness of the translation were of primary evaluation.

Anna Shcherbak showed herself as a skilled translator and a creative, gifted person who accurately conveyed the idea and form of the poem proposed for translation into German, dedicated to the autumn of life.

- People who have chosen the profession of the translator must be intelligent and profoundly educated, possess professional knowledge, be communicative, widely developed in various spheres of life, and most importantly, love and respect the business they are engaged in - the competition's winner is convinced.

Oksana Brovkina, a senior teacher at the Department of Germanic Philology, who advised the participant while working on the translation, notes that the student worked diligently and was inspired.

The faculty FPSC of SumDU congratulates the winner and wishes her further success in the interpretational business!
