On April 13, students-journalists of the first-third year of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU visited the Sumy District Administrative Court, where they talked with its employees about the peculiarities of administrative proceedings and the interaction between the court and the press.

Iryna Fetisova, head of the sector of legal support and interaction with the media, told the guests about the structure and functions of the Sumy District Administrative Court, the peculiarities of providing information and interaction with the media, and also gave the students a tour, during which she showed the reception room, the documentation department (office), the archive and courtrooms.

Next, the students had a meeting with judge-speaker Nataliia Savytska. She told the future media about judicial reforms and outlined the peculiarities of covering the court's work in the media. In particular, the judge-speaker touched on filming and broadcasting open court proceedings, noting that the court has specific rules that participants and visitors must follow.

The discussion with Maksym Vorobei, the responsible employee of the court for access to public information and citizens' appeals, was exciting and no less valid for journalist students about the peculiarities of submitting information requests, the terms of providing answers, and distributing the received information.

The final stage of the tour was a meeting with judge Olena Osipova, who told the guests about complex court cases, peculiarities of document management, and curious cases that sometimes occurred during court hearings and answered questions. Such informal communication became, for the students, a kind of immersion in the life of a judge, a concentration of experience and professionalism. Also, Olena Osipova invited future media workers to attend the court session to see with their own eyes how the case is considered in court.

- The excursion is an opportunity to learn more about how communication with the court's press service is carried out and what mechanisms exist for attending meetings by media persons. In particular, my attention was drawn to the peculiarities of requesting information from managers. In particular, I learned that I could exercise my right by applying to the court if the administrator does not provide information upon request within the time limit set by the law,» - said student journalist Anna Shpurik.

- It is nice that we heard answers to all the questions we were interested in during the excursion without any restrictions. I am grateful to the speakers of the meeting for their impeccable preparation and organization. In particular, the stories of Olena Osipova, who shared the most exciting stories from her own experience as a judge, were memorable. There was a pleasant and light atmosphere. For me, as a future media professional, it was beneficial to learn more about the mechanism of the court's interaction with media representatives, - emphasized first-year student Liubov Sitak.

The students of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU are grateful to the court staff for the organized meeting, helpful information, and exciting excursion!
