Kateryna Kolodiazhna, a specialty "Philology" student at the Faculty FPSC of SumDU, took second place at Vitalii Keis All-Ukrainian Shakespeare competition of student research and creative projects.

The All-Ukrainian Shakespeare Competition is an annual event that promotes the legacy of William Shakespeare in the student environment, the identification of philologically gifted youth, and the stimulation of scientific research and creative activity of students. Traditionally, the event is organized at Zaporizhzhia National University with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Last year, the competition gathered over 60 participants from 20 institutions of higher education in Ukraine.

As Kateryna Kolodiazhna said, while preparing her creative project, she seemed to look behind the settings of her own consciousness:

 - A radically different application of my translation and writing skills helped me piece by piece to gather my own style and perspective on artistic translation! Such a competition is like a huge springboard for the realization of any creative or research ideas, so for everyone whose heart is at least from reading the works of a prominent playwright, I advise you to join.

The student created a deck of Tarot cards, in which each arcana corresponded to a certain William Shakespeare's work, and filled the cards with the author's translations of excerpts from these works.

Taking another place, Kateryna firmly decided not to rest on her attainments:

 - It's time to improve your translations and author's works and demonstrate them at similar competitions, where everyone can express themselves and hear feedback from masters of their field. So further - only a series of new victories!

Four more students of the #best_faculty_in_the_galaxy reached the competition's final: future philologists Aliona Nikolenko, Diana Pererva, Karina Chornobuk, and journalist Anna Shpurik. The creative projects of our students were highly rated by the competition jury, as evidenced by the results obtained in the first round of scoring.

We hope the girls will be lucky enough to make the strict judges fall in love with their projects next time.

But the most important thing is that all our participants demonstrated their talents and gained invaluable experience.

The Faculty FPSC of SumDU congratulates Kateryna Kolodiazhna on her well-deserved victory and wishes her and all the competition participants not to rest on their achievements but confidently step forward to new heights.
