On March 2, the first-year media students of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, had a chance to attend interactive mine safety training in Sumy Municipal Gallery. Specialists from the Sumy Regional Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine organized the event.

The meeting was part of a discipline taught by Serhii Maliuk, the head of the media content production group of SumDU Media Center.

The participants had an opportunity to listen about life safety in the border area (including Sumy region). They’ve also learnt about different types of explosive devices, such as missile warheads, artillery ammunition, anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, hand grenades, etc., and methods of recognition and neutralization.

During the event, Serhii Maliuk showed students the exhibits of the exhibition “What’s in Your Head?” created by our compatriot, Inna Maksymenko. The centerpiece of the composition was photos of Northern Saltivka, the largest residential area in Kharkiv, which was heavily damaged during the hostilities.

The entrance part of the gallery featured works of the Red Cross volunteers. These are photos and collages from Trostianets and Okhtyrka taken during evacuation and humanitarian aid.

After many online events, all visitors were happy to attend such “live” lectures. The meeting inspired first-year students of the Faculty FPSC to keep working on the educational front and outlined the prospects of a bright future in the country free of evil.
