The head of Sumy Zarichnyi district court Hanna Shelekhova and the head of the institution Alla Shevchenko met with students of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications of Sumy State University. They had a meeting to try to find out common and different between judiciary and the Fourth Estate.

Hanna Shelekhova, in particular, told future journalists about the aspects of being a judge, described the way, which the case makes during the judicial proceedings.

In her turn Alla Shevchenko acquainted students with the projects, in which Sumy judges are involved, demonstrated how does the court web site woks and explained which information may be useful for journalists.

In addition, the question about open court hearings was discussed, moreover students were curious about cases, which judges keep in mind the best.  They also negotiated about famous crimes, to which a special attention of public and media is drawn.

– Personally I liked the meeting. In general I thought that judges w going to use professional terms, but all information was accessible and understandable. The fact that men in gowns can have about 15 hearings per day nearly shocked me, –  shared her impressions the student Vladyslava Kritska.

– Such meetings for us, students, are very useful. Firstly, we acquired useful information about how the trials are shown by journalists.  Secondly, we got some information about cooperation with representatives of judiciary to improve our knowledge in this area, – pointed out the student Artem Yushchenko.

Meetings similar to this is one of the most important forms of practical preparation of students, provided by the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications of Sumy State University.
