Staff and students of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU showed high sports results in badminton competitions. The Winter Games have brought some victories at once to the #the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy.
On December 17, competitions in badminton took place on the basis of SumDU to the implementation of the City Sport Games of Sumy among universities. In 2019/20 students of SumDU, SSPU and SNAU fought for the title of the best players.
The girls' championship was won by the students of our university, Moiseienko Polina (Faculty FPSC) and Yaskevych Anastasiia (Oleg Balatskiy Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management).
- It was a fierce battle - shares the impressions of the game Polina - but our team has coped and won the gold. The first victory among girls was easy, but the second game turned very difficult. Our rivals prepared well, so they won the first time. We have already begun to worry that we will take the second place. However, we managed to brace ourselves and pull ahead in the next two times. The moment of victory is the brightest and the most emotional one, because we have proved that Sumy State University is and will be the best in such sport as badminton.
On December 18, SumDU Badminton team consisting of Oksana Hladchenko, Senior Lecturer of the Foreign Languages Department, and Antonina Siryk, Senior Lecturer of the Physical Education and Sports Department, took part in the City Games among staff of the higher educational institutions.
The rivals of our athletes were the teams of the Sumy City Organization of Trade Union of Education Workers and SNAU.
In the cut-throat fight SSU team has received the gold.
The New Year brought a new victory - in the Badminton Christmas City Tournament, Oksana Hladchenko, a foreign language lecturer, and Mohammed Ali the 4th year student of SumDU Medical University took the first place in the "B" category.
The contest was held on January 3 at the school №3. About 30 athletes participated, 16 of whom competed in the B category – category of professionals.
- For more than 10 years I have been practicing badminton in SumDU section for students and staff, - says Oksana Hladchenko, - so the victory didn’t come as a surprise. But I always enjoy the achievements, as if for the first time.
The Faculty FPSC of SumDU is eager to support the sports passion and achievements of its students and staff, because sport is life.
