Representatives of the #best_faculty_in_the_galaxy have won awards in the second stage of the 10th Taras Shevchenko International Literary Contest.

The competition was held on November 5 at the Department of Journalism and Philology of SumDU. This year more than eighty students from twenty-eight educational establishments of Sumy Region became participants.

The morning for the competitors began with the registration in the lobby of the main building. Right after that, a grand opening started, where the students were greeted by the Director of the Department of Education and Science of Sumy Regional State Administration Victoriia Hrobova and the Head of the Department of Journalism and Philology of SumDU, Professor Olena Tkachenko . Solemnly, envelope with the task was opened by the Vice Dean for Education of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications Olena Medvid .

Eight students of SumDU participated in the contest. Among them, there are five representatives of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications.

Karina Khachatarian, a fourth-year student of the Department of Journalism and Philology, won the championship in humanitarian section. The 2nd year student of the same Department Zoreslava Shedenko took the third place.

- Shevchenko's competition has become a good tradition for me, as I annually participate in it since the fifth grade. It is an opportunity to try your knowledge and writing skills in various genres. The theme of the work is quite interesting, I consider the "muse to have come", because I was pleased with the written work. I am glad that the university gives the opportunity to continue such a tradition – Zoreslava shares her impressions of the competition.

- It happened to be the 10th Shevchenko International Literary Contest in which I am already taking part. Every year I look forward interesting and creative tasks that give me a chance to test my knowledge in writing works and in Taras Shevchenko`s biography,”- comments on participation in the competition Karina.

The Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications of SumDU congratulates the girls with the deserved victory and wishes further creative growth and inspiration!
