On September 29, on the eve of International Translation Day, a meeting was held to introduce the Department of Germanic Philology of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, to the first-year students. This event had special significance for the first-year students. During the meeting, they got information about the professional holiday and the specifics of their chosen field, "Philology".

However, the teachers also eagerly joined the meeting, as with current circumstances, such an event provided a unique opportunity to interact with students in a less formal setting.

After the introduction, the students got the chance to participate in a quest created specially for them. The quest locations encompassed not only the Department of Germanic Philology in the "ET"- building (the Electro-Technical Building) but also other essential spots on the SumDU campus. The location moderators included senior students of the department's specialty and the department's teachers. The quest's creator, teacher Anna Zinchenko, mentioned that she intentionally chose this format for entertainment: it allowed students to get acquainted with the campus, engage in team-building activities, interact with senior students, and have fun.

In their feedback about the meeting, the freshmen joyfully discussed the exciting and unexpected format of getting to know the teachers. They also wished teachers inspiration and development opportunities on the occasion of the professional holiday.
