On the 28th of April, the Faculty FPSC of SumDU held the X All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference of Students, Postgraduates, and Professors «Social and Humanitarian Aspects of Modern Society Development».

The reports were presented not only by students, undergraduates, postgraduates, and professors of Sumy State University but also by representatives from other institutions of higher education (Institute of Theological Sciences of Blessed Virgin Mary of Kamianets-Podilskyi Diocese of the RCC, Mykhailo Drahomanov State University of Ukraine, Kruty Heroes Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization, Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, etc.)

Foreign students from Africa, the Middle East, and India also prepared reports. For instance, it was the first experience participating in the conference for a student Shaji Reshma. Her report was related to the implementation of European values in Ukraine and the world, which is currently very relevant research. She highlighted the mental concepts that reveal the nature of folk customs, rituals, and, therefore, specific features of national cultures.

Productive discussions also followed the reports of Kostiantyn Rodchenko, master's student of the Department of Journalism and Philology, and first-year student Yuliia Lahuta. As future journalists, they analysed the historical concepts of the «four theories» of the media, defined the main elements of the path to objective and subjective journalism, as well as made a comparative characterisation of the national personality of a Ukrainian soldier captured in the First World War and the Russian-Ukrainian war of 2022 based on the work of Oleksa Kobets «Notes of a Prisoner».

The reports of Karyna Chornobuk, Yuliia Lukianova, Alona Nikolenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies Volodymyr Semenov, and other conference participants aroused significant scientific interest.

We hope that for our reporters, participation in the conference of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU is an opportunity to acquire new knowledge on relevant issues of history, culture, philology, philosophy, psychology, social communications, political science, as well as security issues at the regional and national levels.
