On September 29, on the eve of International Translation Day, a meeting was held to introduce the Department of Germanic Philology of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, to the first-year students. This event had special significance for the first-year students. During the meeting, they got information about the professional holiday and the specifics of their chosen field, "Philology".
For all Ukrainian educators, the first Sunday in November is a special day as they celebrate their professional holiday. The Faculty FPSC of SumDU brings together great teachers, talented scientists, practitioners, wise mentors, and, simply to say, amazing people. Who can better tell us about teachers than their graduates?
Commonly, the first-year students (groups PR-31, PR-32, ZhT-31) of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU got acquainted with the Sumy Regional Universal Academic Library on the eve of the All-Ukrainian Library Day. The excursion was supported by Professor of the Department of Journalism and Philology Zhylenko Iryna. The curator of the ZhT-31 group, assistant Olena Ishchenko, also joined the event.
On the 30th of September, representatives of a fantastic specialty – translators – celebrate their professional holiday. It is difficult to imagine modernity without this occupation as the world is enormous and inimitable, every language and culture are unique and thanks to those who have chosen the perfect language learning as their profession, we receive an opportunity to communicate with other peoples, get acquainted with the heritage and the features of diverse cultures, collaborate and share experiences.
The first-year students of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, waited for the traditional event organized annually by the student government of each faculty - the initiation, or rather, the anti-initiation, as #the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy called this year's event.
The THEA Ukraine X project "Multiplication Trainings for Higher Education Administrators in Ukraine" with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and FH Münster University of Applied Sciences, Germany, has been successfully completed.
Undergraduates of the specialty «Political science» and bachelor students of the specialty «Social work» of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU took part in the project «Youth in local governance» that is implemented by the community initiative «Local deputies. Attestation» together with the Sumy platform of reforms.
On September 21st, first-year students of the Faculty FPSC took part in an online meeting, "Opportunities for academic mobility at SumDU", organized by the International Affairs Department. In total, more than 80 listeners participated in the event.
On September 9th, the Department of Psychology, Political Science, and Socio-Cultural Technologies at the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, organized a traditional meet-and-greet for incoming students in "Psychology" and "Social Work," as well as Master's students in "Political Science," and second-year students who joined this year.
Lecturers of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty FPSC, SumDU, organised Freshers' Day for new students - a live introduction to the department and their chosen speciality. Traditionally, the event was held on 8 September, the International Day of Solidarity of Journalists.
This summer, students of the Department of Journalism and Philology at the Faculty FPSC of SumDU didn't let boredom get the best of them. Instead, they used their time involving university graduates for the "Remember Yourself in the Classroom" project.
