On November 24th, the Department of Germanic Philology of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU held the ХІII All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Translation Innovations" online. The materials of the conference include the additions of representatives of higher education institutions and schoolchildren from different cities of Ukraine. Tomoko Tatsumi, associate professor at the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies at Kobe University in Japan, researcher of the Language Development Department at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, also visited the conference.
On the 22 of November, students and teachers of SumDU were presented with an online game “Hype or Truth”. Its purpose is to teach participants media literacy, to show how manipulations and fakes are really formed. The #the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy also joined the game.
Two representatives of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU won the literary competition «My alma mater,» organised on the university's 75th anniversary. The awarding ceremony took place on 22nd November in the Literary Hall of the university library.
On November 13th, student advertisers of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU and the university's psychological service organized an online event called "Black Square." The idea was to give students the opportunity to anonymously ask questions about their mental state, which were later answered by psychologist Liudmyla KOLISNYK.
Olena Ovsianko, a senior lecturer at the Department of Germanic Philology of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU, attended the Day of Science and Innovation organized by the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (Tübingen, Germany).
On November 17th, on International Students' Day, at Sumy State University, an award ceremony took place to recognize the winners of the "Best Student of SumDU-2023" competition. Two representatives from the Faculty FPSC achieved triumphs in the categories.
November 17 is International Students’ Day, and #the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy congratulates all higher education students on this holiday. Student years are one of the best periods in life. This is the time not only of lectures and exams but also of vivid moments. Teachers, graduates, and students of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU shared their memories of different student years with us.
On November 15th, professors and students of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU participated in a roundtable discussion on “Information Policy and Border Security: Efficiency and Challenges.” The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine – Sumy Regional Organization of the NUJU, Sumy State University and the Department of Journalism and Philology of SumDU organized the event.
Anna Evheniivna CHERNYSH, the senior lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Philology of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU with a successful defense of the dissertation for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences in the specialty 035 Philology.
On the 7th of November, the Travel Office hosted an exciting online event led by Olena Nazarenko, a lecturer from the Department of Germanic Philology. Oleksandra Derkach, a 4th-year Philology student, shared her experiences of studying in the Czech Republic with 1st and 2nd-year students majoring in Philology and their mentor Iryna Tkachenko.
The dean was elected on November 7 at the general meeting of the staff of the Faculty FPSC at SumDU. Olena Sushkova will continue to lead #the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy for the next five years.
