Representatives of the Faculty FPSC of SumDU took part in the Concluding Regional Roundtable devoted to the project "Program on peace and dialogue restoration for internally displaced women “Woman’s vote has power – 2019” in Sumy region.

The event was held on November 28 at the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technology of SumDU. The participants are representatives of local authority, public organizations, mass media, scientists and students.

Sumy region is one of the 8 regions of Ukraine, where the project “Woman’s vote has power – 2019” is implemented. In our region, the organizers were Public Organization “Intellect of Sumy region” in partnership with Public Organization “Foundation of Human Rights” with the support of Sumy State University.

The objectives of the project are establishing gender equality in society, empowerment of women and increasing in their votes at the local level, ensuring the terms of 1325 United Nations Security Council resolution “Peace. Women. Security” in Ukraine, tension weakening and alleviating conflicts in the society by means of public creative activity.

This year, “Woman’s Vote” sounded in several directions: promoting peacemaking, gender equality, blogging and art therapy. The representative of Public Organization “Intellect of Sumy region” and project coordinator in Sumy region Anna Yevsieieva told about this and other issues:

- We have powerful blogger support, - Ms. Anna shares her impressions - for eight month period we have created a friendly team of 76 bloggers! They study a variety of problems, from global - environment, bad habits, venality, poverty, etc., to local ones - road conditions, public transport, accessible space for disabled people, pop-up business. A numerous quantity of blogs is devoted to gender and peacekeeping perspectives.

Also important moment is that the texts of project participants are not scattered on the Internet. Bloggers' activities focus on the Women Liaison Security Platform in Sumy region.

In 2019, special strengthening acquired the art-therapy component of the project, about which a psychologist and the head of the Art-Therapy Association of special division of SumDU Anna Cherniakova told us during the roundtable:

- The work was sufficient. First, we organized the All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Seminar “Creative Multidimensionality of the Art Therapy Space”. We conducted several trainings “Art for Peace”, blog-cafe “Art therapy and peacekeeping as a topic for blogging”, and blog-cafe with media art therapy, “The Role of Women in Modern Society”. About 200 people took part in these events.

It is not without the master classes. For example, at the event “Peaceful district” and the annual festival “ART-family” in Sumy region, more than 2000 people were involved in various tasks and activities. By the way, many people, involved in the bloggers' project, have become the participants in these events.

- “Woman’s vote has power” gave us a lot of knowledge and partners, who deal with important for us issues, - emphasizes Nina Svitailo, project manager in Sumy region. - In addition, we have a significant advantage, because in Sumy the program is implemented with the support of SumDU.

From November 30 to December 1, 2019, the Sumy team presented the results of their activities at the Final Project Forum in Kiev.

- The forum summed up the large three-year way. Moreover, it gave an opportunity to discuss the prospects for collaboration in 2020. Huge amount of work is waiting for us in future! We only dream of peace! - commented the Director of Foundation of Human Rights, Yevhen Fomin.

It should be noted that the Faculty FPSC of SumDU is ready for further participation in the project “Woman’s vote has power” in 2020, as far as the program touches upon extremely important issues, which are worth discussing and solving.
