Students of the department of journalism and philology of the faculty of foreign philology and social communications of SumDU became the winners of the All-Ukrainian competition of television programs "The World of Sport".

For the fifteenth time, the National Olympic Committee has highlighted the best journalistic work promoting sports and the ideas of Olympism. The rewarding took place at the National University of the State Fiscal Service (Irpin).

The storyline "Opening of the SumDU Beach Volleyball Center", prepared by 4th year student Karina Khachatarian and a Master student Bohdan Cherniakov, was noted in the nomination "For the best coverage of the sports life of the region".

Vice-President of NOC of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko presented the diploma and souvenir gifts to the future media representatives.

- For me, this competition has become a wonderful experience and a pleasant memory. Since Bohdan and I presented the only student work, it was interesting to compare it with the stories of professional journalists. Just during the awards, we’ve discussed the videos of other authors and, of course, we’ve learnt so much. It is extremely motivating to receive an award from Mykola Tomenko. It is an unforgettable experience and a good impetus for future developments, - shares Karina Khachatarian.

The total jury evaluated 52 storylines and programs from 25 creative teams and individual authors from 15 regions of the country. The best works were chosen by well-known TV representatives, renowned Olympians and sports experts. The award, received by the representatives of the faculty of foreign philology and social communications of SumDU, once again demonstrated the high level of professional training and skill of our students.
