    Youth and Sports Department of Sumy Regional State Administration is holding a series of public lectures with national-patriotic content. Among these lectures is a speech of Associate Professor of the department of philosophy, faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications, SumDU Viacheslav Artiukh

    On November 14 Viacheslav Artiukh gave a lecture on the topic “Prosvita Society in Sumy region during the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921” at the Congress Centre of SumDU. 

  In general, his scientific interests concern the philosophy of history, intellectual history, and the history of Ukrainian philosophy. A large amount of the scholar’s works belongs to the subject of local history. 

   During his lecture, Viacheslav Artiukh  told the audience about the development and activities of “Prosvita” societies in different parts of Sumy region in a meaningful and emotional way. He devoted a part of his speech to prominent figures of the movement and emphasized that during their studying process, “Prosvita” drew students’ attention to Ukrainian history as well as to the history of personalities. 

The audience was amazed not only by the difficulties enlighteners faced, but also by the purpose of the organization.

    Until the end of the year, two more lectures will be available for students of the best faculty of the galaxy. One of them is at the forum on December 12-13.
