On February 21, the Faculty FPSC, SumDU student self-government, and Vira Falko, a lecturer at the TeSET Faculty, initiated and held a lecture on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Ms. Falko shared a brief history of the origin and development of the ideas of the sustainable development strategy and its current status. In particular, she focused on the objectives of each of the 17 goals and the means of achieving the positive result that the world expects by 2030.

– I am grateful to Vira Volodymyrivna and the student self-government for their initiative! I am planning to apply for a conference on sustainable development in Poznan, and this lecture helped me to understand the work of the strategy better and choose the area in which I want to develop my further scientific activity, Kateryna Sotnikova, a first-year student of the "Philology" specialty shared her impressions.

Maryna Tkachenko, the Student Dean of the Faculty FPSC, also commented on the event:

– In my opinion, the topic of sustainable development is perhaps the most relevant for study today. My team and I are committed to further developing this topic among our students, strengthening sustainability in our work, and developing self-government.

The event was useful for the participants, as they had the opportunity not only to learn more about the history of the idea of sustainability but also to understand the challenges facing humanity today and the means to achieve the common goal of preserving the planet for future generations.
