The Faculty FPSC faculty arranged career guidance meetings for NMT preparatory students at SumDU on 15-17 November. In addition to introducing the majors, the faculty members also organised a book exhibition and promotion product launch, a photo zone, and an association tree with specialty branches.
The Department of Psychology, Political Science, and Socio-Cultural Technologies presented its majors first (on Friday). The department's students conducted two games: "Activity Sense", where entrants guessed and explained their emotions, and "Situation Cards", where participants tried their hand at being psychologists and social workers. Moreover, the students shared their experiences of admission, studying, internships, and academic mobility.
On Saturday, the Department of Germanic Philology met with the entrants. They informed them about the professional skills and qualifications that future translators and interpreters will acquire. They also described employment prospects, opportunities for international academic mobility, and personal fulfillment in related fields. Later, the students continued introducing the speciality to the pupils, and offered them a funny quiz in the interactive game Kahoot.
On Sunday, the departments of Journalism and Philology and the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics introduced their specialties. Secondary Education representatives communicated with future entrants, who impressed everyone with their knowledge of Internet slang, created emoji stories, tried to identify the colour of their mood in English, solved riddles related to the teacher's profession, and looked for which books these literary characters came from.
The Department of Journalism and Philology discussed with potential entrants the significance of the ability to engage with information, tried themselves as media people, determined the purpose of a modern journalist, and dealt with practical cases to improve critical thinking. They also invited students to attend the Media World Leads to the Universe festival.
Thus, the #best_faculty_in_the galaxy is looking forward to new bright stars in its close-knit student family!
