Finding a fern flower, braiding a wreath, or visiting a fortune teller - everything is possible during the Midsummer holiday organized by the Faculty FPSC of SumDU student government.
The themed party started with a traditional attribute of the holiday - a bonfire. The organizers prepared not only legends for the guests but also a small symbolic fire. After the incendiary start, the participants hunted for a fern flower - the quest "In Search of a Fern Flower." The winners may not have gained the ability to communicate with nature and other ancient knowledge, but they did get vivid emotions. The entertainment did not end there. After the quest, the guests were offered a master class in wreath weaving, fortune telling, and fun games. Finally, everyone could enjoy folk songs.
- The Midsummer evening was a great success! There were exciting games, entertainment, and a quest. The main thing is that we are reviving our Ukrainian traditions with this event, which is very commendable. Our culture is rich, and young people should know what kind of parties we have!" Mariia Shakhova, a psychology student, shared her impressions.
Yelyzaveta SHULHINA, Deputy Dean of Students for Cultural and Mass Work, talked about the history of the holiday:
- The Midsummer parties were my first event in my new position. When writing the script, it wasn't easy to combine all the ideas. I had a lot of worries about everything. But the holiday turned out to be worth it, and everyone received an incredible amount of positive emotions. The most exciting thing was reading the legends of Ivan Kupala; they inspired me to create something ethnic. I tried to intertwine all the activities with authentic traditions and rituals so that students could fully immerse themselves in the history of our ancestors. I am sure that we will have many more incredible events, so we are waiting for everyone!
Part of the funds raised at the event was donated to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The #the_best_faculty_in_the_galaxy congratulates everyone on the holidays and calls for reviving and spreading Ukrainian traditions together!
