The Faculty FPSC at SumDU hosted the 1st International Scientific-Practical Conference, "Strategic Innovations in Social Communications and Foreign Philology in Times of Crisis," bringing together scholars worldwide. The event was held in a mixed format on June 1st.

Participants were greeted at the conference opening by SumDU Rector Vasyl Karpusha, Vice Rector Anatolii Chornous, Faculty Dean Olena Sushkova, and Julie Kasper, Director of Teacher Training and Leadership at the Center for Professional Learning of the International Childhood Organization (Washington, USA).

During her speech, Olena Sushkova shared the achievements and development plans for the humanitarian component science at SumDU. She emphasized that our researchers' main task is to reorient scientific studies to follow global trends in science development and the social demand for humanitarian knowledge and phenomena.

«The international component is an important foundation for the development of humanities at SumDU. This helps ensure the integration of humanities research into the global scientific space. Today's conference is another important step in this direction. I hope this event will contribute to the formation and improvement of scientific thought», – noted Olena Sushkova.

At the plenary and sectional sessions, presentations were given by Associate Professor Danica Jerotijevic - Tisma of the Department of English at the Faculty of Philology and Arts, University of Kragujevac, Kragujevac, Serbia; Professor and head Paul F. Langer of the European Danube Academy, Ulm, Germany; Professor Stuart Carroll of the College of New Jersey, USA; and other Ukrainian and foreign scholars, as well as students from the Faculty FPSC of SumDU and other Ukrainian institutions of higher education. The program is available at the link. A collection of conference materials is planned to be published soon.

We hope that the 1st International Scientific-Practical Conference, "Strategic Innovations in Social Communications and Foreign Philology in Times of Crisis," will mark the beginning of a good tradition and the development of fruitful international cooperation in the scientific fields of the Faculty FPSC at SumDU.
