Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation Center «Sloboda» is a subdivision of the Department of Germanic Philology. It was established in March 2019 within the framework of Consortium of the University of Warsaw and Ukrainian universities.
Consortium was established on April 12, 2006 due to initiative of Eastern European Research Center of the University of Warsaw (Pl. Studium Europy Wschodniej Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego). The aim of its activity is cooperation between the University of Warsaw and Ukrainian universities, experience exchange within academic mobility of researches and students, implementation of common projects, promotion of research development in Eastern and Central European region.
Participation in Consortium provides the following opportunities: implementation of academic mobility; participation in scholarship programmes of Eastern summer and winter schools; visiting lecturers, arranging symposiums and conferences; arranging youth exchange.

Sumy State University officially joined Consortium on April 23-24, 2014.
Main aims of Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation Center «Sloboda» activity:
- joining Eastern studios of the University of Warsaw to support and develop historical, cultural and linguistic researches in the region;
- arranging and carrying out the Polish language courses;
- carrying out collaborative Ukrainian-Polish researches in the field of security and hybrid war, as well as collaborative historical, cultural and linguistic researches;
- arranging and carrying out collaborative international conferences, webinars, etc;
- cooperation in the field of Translation and Publishing;
- implementing of social mission to support cultural and historical heritage;
- arranging and supporting students’ mobility within
